Hardware and System Architectures for Smart Farming (HASF)
Special Session Scope
The importance of smart farming solutions is steadily increasing since they can efficiently enable reliable detection, accurate identification and proper quantification of pathogens and other factors affecting both plant and animal health, which are critical to be kept under control in order to reduce economic expenditures, trade disruptions and even human health risks. Of special interest for this special session are contributions on new devices, systems and technologies for smart farming. Farm and livestock management is increasingly based on Intelligent IoT devices for sensing and actuating leveraging results in micro-nano-bio technologies and cyber-physical systems including embedded systems, low power processor platforms and Systems-on-Chip integrating sensing and communication elements, new communication schemes and topologies that exploit the cloud networking and cloud services models. Additionally, a higher degree of automation in farming processes is achieved with the advent of technologies that exploit autonomous aerial and ground vehicles equipped with appropriate sensing, actuating and communication elements. Smart applications exploiting these technologies can be developed increasing the accuracy of operations, reducing the amount of resources consumed for production and increasing the detection efficiency and context awareness. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Submission Guidelines
Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts via EasyChair web service at web page https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dsd2022. Each manuscript should include the complete paper text, all illustrations, and references. The manuscript should conform to the IEEE format: single-spaced, double column, US letter page size, 10-point size Times Roman font, up to 8 pages. In order to conduct a blind review, no indication of the authors’ names should appear in the manuscript, references included.
